New Orleans Blues is a composition by Antoine Hervé dedicated to jazz-blues beginners

This blues is typical of New Orleans style: there are twelve bars, and the rhythm is swing

The left hand plays the bass, and the right hand comps using 4-note chords

In this lesson we’ll get more comfortable with the blues structure and work on groove, or swing, that is, lean into the tempo and stay relaxed without dragging or rushing, and accent the second and fourth beats

Il s’agit en fait d’un blues à douze mesures dans une rythmique ternaire

La main gauche joue les basses, et la main droite l’accompagnement avec des accords de quatre sons

On va chercher à se familiariser avec la structure du blues et surtout à travailler sur le « groove », ou le « swing », cad jouer bien au fond du temps sans presser, très relax, et sans modifier le tempo, avec un accent dynamique sur les temps deux et quatre
