Taken from the opera Gringo (a contemporary tale), this cantata takes place at the moment when the heroes are forced to demonstrate their powers before the leaders of the land of Atlantis.

Tricia Hayward's great vocal flexibility and wide range, combined with her rigorous technique, allowed her to perfectly embody the dramatic tension that only a mezzo-soprano singing in the extremes could convey. As a soloist, her voice juggles a range of timbres which, by playing on amplitude and dynamics (closed mouth, vowels, onomatopoeia, etc.), becomes the very foundation of the phrasing. Subsequently, the warmth of the vocal timbre sculpts this "timeless" place to which the heroes have flown... Extremely precise rhythmic equivalences allow the musical accelerations and decelerations to be expressed within a regular beat, an image of flexibility and movement in the tranquility of infinity.

This piece was premiered on March 21, 1998, at Radio France by Tricia Haywards and the Ensemble "2e2m."
