MOZART, BY NIGHT - cross-over album by Antoine Herve with choir and jazz quintetMOZART, LA NUIT - album cross-over d'Antoine Hervé avec choeur et jazz quintet

€5.90

Think Mozart and an orchestra jamming with hip-hop artists and jazzmen. Sound unusual? It is, and it works, Mozart would have loved it...

Antoine Hervé and some of the Europe's most forward-looking jazz, avant-garde and experimental musicians- including Markus Stockhausen and Didier Lockwood- apply their collective talents to the melodies of Mozart in Mozart, La Nuit...jazz'n'groove.

"Mozart the creator was, in his time, unjustly victim of his contemporaneous conservatism and ignorance. Specially from the most erudits. He happens to be today the most famous musician ever. Composer, Improviser and interpreter, his melodies are still up to date. Today's technology, sound designing, electronic treatment, drums, jazz imporvising, are used here to provide a new environment for those melodies in a respectful way. Wolfgang, rebellious and creative would certainly have a lot of fun with those new technologies. This is precisely the the game we choosed to play, never forgetting that the essential, emotion, has to stay intact."

Antoine Hervé piano, Karine Serafin soprano, Markus Stockhausen trumpet, Didier Lockwood violin, François Moutin & Michel Benita bass, Louis Moutin & Jeff Boudreaux drums, Arnaud Frank percussions, Versailles' choir.
