Tutorial 7: How do I play my DVD?

Note: Do not open these two TS files directly, as they are encapsulated in MPEG2. Use an app specifically designed for playing DVDs.

On PC:

Open both downloaded files in the VLC app. The DVD is now ready to be played with its chapters.

On older Macs:

Older systems have the DVD player app.

Open "DVD Player," then open both the video and audio TS folders from the app in the "Open" menu.

On recent Macs:

If the DVD player app is not available on your Mac because the system is recent,

Search in Spotlight (the magnifying glass in the top right corner labeled "search") using the English title of the app:

DVD Player

Then drag the French version (DVD Player) that appears as a search result into your dock.

Open the DVD Player app, then open your two TS video/audio folders downloaded from the DVD Player app.

As of December 19, 2020, VLC will not work or will work very poorly for playing DVDs on Mac. To be continued...
